Entrepreneurship Meets Sustainability: Lipka’s Innovative Teacher Training Experience

This past academic year, the Czech environmental education centre Lipka hosted two rounds of an inspiring teacher training seminar. Organised in collaboration with European partners Bantani Education (Belgium) and Framtidsfrön (Sweden), the events explored how to meaningfully integrate entrepreneurial and sustainability education into everyday teaching practice.

The trainings provided hands-on activities, effective teaching strategies, and insights into the European GreenComp and EntreComp frameworks. Both seminars were supported by the Erasmus+ project “Greenpreneur Teaching Academy.”

What Activities and Methods Did Teachers Explore?

  • Place-based learning was highlighted as a powerful approach for developing key competences.
  •  One of the most impactful activities was the Café Saroyan session. In a cosy, café-like setting, participants reflected on the power of perspective through excerpts from Tracy’s Tiger. Inspired partly by our Swedish partners, each participant chose a paper-cut animal and spoke on its behalf—creating a safe, imaginative space for sharing without having to speak directly for oneself.
  •  Participants also explored the Design for Change methodology, a problem-solving approach ideal for student-led projects. We recommend to combine this method with Good Life Goals.

Through discussion and hands-on experience, participants discovered that combining entrepreneurial and sustainability competences is an essential part of modern education. They emphasised the need for school-wide dialogue and mentoring to implement these changes effectively.

Lipka continues to empower educators to merge entrepreneurship and sustainability for real-world impact in schools.
