Entrepreneurship Meets Sustainability: Lipka’s Innovative Teacher Training Experience
This past academic year, the Czech environmental education centre Lipka hosted two rounds of an inspiring teacher training seminar. Organised in collaboration with European partners Bantani Education (Belgium) and Framtidsfrön (Sweden), the events explored how to meaningfully integrate entrepreneurial and sustainability education into everyday teaching practice.
The trainings provided hands-on activities, effective teaching strategies, and insights into the European GreenComp and EntreComp frameworks. Both seminars were supported by the Erasmus+ project “Greenpreneur Teaching Academy.”

What Activities and Methods Did Teachers Explore?
- Place-based learning was highlighted as a powerful approach for developing key competences.
- One of the most impactful activities was the Café Saroyan session. In a cosy, café-like setting, participants reflected on the power of perspective through excerpts from Tracy’s Tiger. Inspired partly by our Swedish partners, each participant chose a paper-cut animal and spoke on its behalf—creating a safe, imaginative space for sharing without having to speak directly for oneself.
- Participants also explored the Design for Change methodology, a problem-solving approach ideal for student-led projects. We recommend to combine this method with Good Life Goals.
Through discussion and hands-on experience, participants discovered that combining entrepreneurial and sustainability competences is an essential part of modern education. They emphasised the need for school-wide dialogue and mentoring to implement these changes effectively.
Lipka continues to empower educators to merge entrepreneurship and sustainability for real-world impact in schools.

What’s Next for the Greenpreneur Project?
We are currently finalising the Greenpreneur Teaching Academy, a 12-hour online training programme designed to help teachers integrate sustainability and entrepreneurship into their teaching. Hosted on the EntreComp Community platform, the course will also be available in an online or blended format with direct teacher participation. Developed in consultation with educators, it provides a hands-on approach to design thinking, project-based learning, and gamification, offering practical tools to inspire students through activities like nature trails, changemaker programs, and SDG storytelling. The course is set to launch in February 2025.
In addition, we are developing a Greenpreneur Matrix, which blends entrepreneurial and sustainability competencies, highlighting key skills such as Resourcefulness in Green Innovation, Resilience and Adaptability in Changing Environments, and Collaborative Action for Sustainable Communities. To support educators further, we are reviewing national educational curriculum in partner countries to demonstrate how entrepreneurial and environmental skills fit into existing education frameworks. Lastly, we are preparing to launch a teacher network on the EntreComp Community, where educators can connect, exchange ideas, and stay updated on EntreComp and GreenComp topics. More exciting updates are on the way—stay tuned!

First International Partner Meeting in Czechia
On September 23-24, 2024, project partners gathered in Brno for the first project meeting. Hosted at Lipka, the meeting provided a platform for partners to strengthen their collaboration, exchange best practices, and refine the project’s direction. Participants introduced their organisations, shared innovative teaching methods, and explored interesting resources like the GreenComp Game and Good Life Goals, highlighting creative approaches to integrating entrepreneurial and sustainability competencies into education.
Key sessions focused on understanding GreenComp, its connection to EntreComp and the Sustainable Development Goals, and how to communicate it with teachers. The group explored tools such as Articulate for creating engaging learning materials and Pointer Pro for assessments with tailored recommendations. Discussions also touched on the benefits of place based learning, using Scaffold Cards for structured guidance, and fostering student engagement through the Ladder of Participation model. Partners also worked on shaping the structure of the teacher training programme and began developing the EntreComp-GreenComp Matrix.
Alongside productive work sessions, participants enjoyed informal networking, a scenic walk around Brno, and a visit to a community garden, further strengthening connections within the partnership. The diverse mix of tools and methodologies sparked fresh ideas and energized the group’s commitment to fostering sustainable, entrepreneurial mindsets in classrooms across Europe.

Welcome to the Greenpreneur Teaching Academy
The Greenpreneur Teaching Academy is an exciting project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, aiming to present how entrepreneurial and sustainability skills can be integrated into education. This initiative brings together three partner organisations – Lipka (Czechia), Bantani Education (Belgium), and Framtidsfrön (Sweden). The mission is to empower educators to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets in their classrooms while equipping students with the skills needed for a sustainable future.
At the heart of this project is the connection between the European Commission’s EntreComp and GreenComp frameworks. Through practical methodologies, a self-paced online training programme, and the creation of a collaborative teacher network. The Greenpreneur Teaching Academy will provide educators with the knowledge and resources to inspire their students to tackle global challenges with creativity and innovation.
Join us on this journey to redefine education, where entrepreneurial thinking meets sustainable action. Together, we can empower the next generation to create a greener, more resilient future.
